Passed away after a brief illness on July 6, 2025, at the age of 69, at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie.
Beloved son of the late Steve (2002) and Marilyn (2022) Majoros. Dear brother and best friend to Marilyn & Glenn Boyd, and predeceased by his brother Bill (2022). Stephen was also a cherished uncle to Shana, Trista & Kayla, and Kim & Sam. He was especially proud great uncle to Summer, Madeline, and Braya, always slipping them money. He shared an unbreakable bond with his Uncle Jack (John Thompson) whom he lived with for many years. Stephen will also be missed by countless friends and neighbors on Orr Lake, as well as those from his Hamilton years, many who had kept in touch.
Stephen will be remembered for his ‘most times’ outgoing and friendly nature. He could be very kind-hearted, generous, and welcoming to those around him. While known for being a little stubborn at times, his sense of humor and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
An avid reader, Stephen could often be found immersed in books. He was a passionate sports fan, proudly cheering on his hometown Tiger Cats, as well as the Maple Leafs. He had an adoration for animals, from hand feeding and naming the resident chipmunks, to pet-sitting for neighbours, to loving his own dogs over the years. Stephen loved his camera, taking LOTS of photos then organizing them all into albums. He had a sentimental side, holding on to letters, cards, photos, news paper clippings, you name it. Back in the day he loved to fish, water ski, and spend time around the fire with his loved ones, listening to music, and of course, enjoying a few bevi’s.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Medicine Inpatient team, at RVH for the exceptional care and comfort they provided Stephen over the past month.
To all who have helped over the years, too many to mention, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness, support, patience, and understanding have not gone unnoticed.
If desired, donations in Stephen’s memory may be made to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) or to a local Animal shelter.
