Funeral Details:

SHARPE, TOM

February 27, 1927 - March 13, 2018

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather Tom Sharpe. He will be remembered as a caring gentleman, who loved his family very much.

After retiring from a 38 year career with the Devilbiss company, which allowed him the ability to travel the world and see things that most people could only dream of, he spent the next 10 years with the Mad River golf course. His children will remember him as a kind grandfather who helped to raise their children even in his later years of life. His stories of travel and his life experiences would captivate those who were listening. He was born in Calgary Alberta and moved to Barrie in the 1960’s where he eventually settled in the Horseshoe Valley area. His nickname was “Pipeline Tom” for his innate ability to hit a golf ball perfectly straight. His name will be forever ingrained as a club champion at the Barrie Country Club.

He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his wife Pat, children Andrew and Tracy Sharpe, Cheryl Reynolds, John Christie, Jackie Carlson, Rick Sharpe and his sister Marie O’Bertos. His grandchildren Adam, Jack and Ella Sharpe. Jake, Alyson and Nicolas Reynolds. Jordan and Matthew Christie. Hunter, Mitchell and Spencer Carlson and his best friend Tipper. Remembered dearly by Doug Reynolds, Maureen Christie, Bruce Carlson and Bill Merrick.

What a wonderful gentleman.  So respected by Horseshoe Valley neighbors.  Pat, Andrew, Tracy and family we send heartfelt condolences and memories.  Can still picture “Old Tom” as Pat lovingly named him, at the school bus stop on Highland with grandchildren.

Happy Trails Tom. You were an incredible next door neighbor for almost 20 years and a good friend. I spent many hours not getting my yard work completed in conversation on numerous subjects with you. You had a gift for  embedding your wonderful and amazing life stories into a casual conversation. I have missed you since you moved to Barrie and I will always remember you. My condolences to your wonderful family.

We have fond memories of neighbour Tom as he’d walk down Valleycrest and stop to chat. One of the first folks we met here, always positive and encouraging. Our condolences to you Pat and all the family. Swing on Tom!
