Wilfred “Wilf” Dutton

February 11, 1937 - May 21, 2025

Funeral Details: Private family arrangements

After a life well lived with no regrets, Wilf passed away peacefully at Campbell House hospice in Collingwood on May 21, 2025.  His wife, Barbara, and two daughters were with him until the end.  Wilf was born in Liverpool, England.  He married Barbara in 1962.  Their 63 year union produced daughter Susan in 1965.  Debbie arrived in 1966 as the first Canadian family member after they immigrated to Canada earlier in the year.

Wilf worked for many years at Canadian Phoenix (formally York Steel) in Toronto.  Prior to retiring Wilf and Barbara moved to Sandy Cove Acres in Innisfil where they spent their golden years with amazing friends.  They travelled a bit and then settled into a happy daily routine that included celebrating everything from birthdays, anniversaries to Wednesdays.  Happy hour always lasted at least 4 hours.  The LCBO will find that they now have more scotch on their shelves.

Much like penguins and swans, Wilf and Barbara were devoted to one another throughout their lives.  Wilf's passing has left a place in Barbara's heart that will now be filled with happy memories.

Wilf will be deeply missed by his daughters and their husbands, Sue & Ron and Debbie & Jeff.  Also missing him are his grandchildren Joshua (Christina), Amanda, Kaitlyn (Daniel), Ashlyn (Anthony), Brandon (Victoria) and Damian.  Wilf leaves behind a legacy of 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  He will be missed by his many friends who supported and cared for him over the years.

A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kerstin Mossman and staff for the exemplary care provided to Wilf for the past 20 years.  Your devotion and support continue to be felt and appreciated.  Thank you to the amazing staff at Bayshore Home Care Solutions for your help during Wilf's final days.  Lastly, a huge thank you to the staff at Hospice Georgian Triangle (Campbell House) for their wonderful care while Wilf was on his final journey.  Your support and empathy meant the world to us.

Wilf's final request was to be cremated and to have a private family gathering.  A donation in his name to The Hudson Regional Cancer Program at RVH or to the hospice of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Barb…. our sincerest condolences to you and all your family. Wilf was an amazing man, always a laugh at the Sandycove activities and at Vincent’s’ backyard get-togethers. Thinking of you now and hope the memories of a wonderful life with Wilf will help at this very sad time.
