Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 28th, 2025 at the age of 65.

 

William was born on September 12, 1960 in Toronto, Ontario.  He is survived by his wife Deborah Burgie, his five children Richard, Crystal (Ryan), Tiffany (Alex), Scott (Charlotte), and Chelsea (Nohlan).  He will be greatly missed by his eleven grandchildren Destiny, Desiree, Daniella, Haileigh, Devyn, Mila, Will, Elsie, Ellie, Ella, and Lottie.  He is predeceased by his parents Edmond and Margaret Burgie and his sister Joanne, and is survived by his sisters Patsy (Bryan) and Lori (John), and his big brother Edmond (Laurie).

 

William was larger than life.  He lived every moment to the fullest and loved his family.  He will be deeply missed by everyone.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Room 22 (Dunlop Street Diner) located at 20 Dunlop St. E., Barrie, ON at 4pm.  Street parking is limited.  There is an underground parking garage located at 27 Collier St.  Service starts at 4pm sharp.
We kindly ask that this be an adults-only service. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.

 

In lieu of flowers please just come by, have a drink and share your best memory of Billy.

    So sad to hear of Bills passing. Albeit very sad, it’s very easy to just remember something he did or said(and there was many….lol) to cause an instant chuckle. A crazy, hilariously funny, one of a kind character that probably already has them laughing in heaven.

    My thoughts and prayers are with the Burgee family in this difficult moment.. Billy was the quintessential family man, raised a big beautiful family and raised them all on love and laughter. I have many memories growing up on the point with his son Scott that I cherish till this day. I know how highly his wife Debbie thought of him. He will be missed beyond measure.

    Rest easy and fly high; Heaven gained a great one.

    So sorry to hear of Billy’s passing. Our sincerest condolences to all the Burgie family. As cousins, we were very close growing up. The times I spent with Billy are memorable, and I won’t forget him. He loved to laugh. He will be surely missed. R.I.P. Billy, my cousin, until we meet again.
