Schulze: Wolfgang Peter
Passed away on Sat. Feb 22, 2014 at Hospice Simcoe, at the age of 73 with his wife Jean and his daughter Diana by his side. Beloved husband of Jean (nee Fisher). Loving father of Diana (Al) of Stayner and son Jamie of Cape Breton. Will be sadly missed by grandsons Bobby and Dylan Isaacs, and granddaughters Rikki Isaacs, Jamie and Leela Schulze. Special step-father to Patrick (Melanie) Austin of Calgary, Ken (Nueng) Austin of Bangkok, Thailand and Linda (Chris) Chrones of St. Albert, Alberta. Cherished step-grandpa of Zachary, Alexandria and Julianna Austin, Pilada Austin, and Jordan and Nathan Chrones. Fondly remembered by his many friends and colleagues.
Wolfgang, the only child of Elli and Peter Schulze was born in Berlin (later West Berlin). After completing the Auto Body Apprenticeship, he immigrated to Canada on his own at the age of 18. True to his entrepreneurial spirit, he soon purchased his own Auto Body shop in Mimico. He and his family moved to Wasaga Beach in 1974 and purchased The Monaco (motel, gas station and restaurant) on Mosley St. Later, while operating several other businesses, he began studying towards his Real Estate licence. His experience as a broker for Langevin Real Estate in Wasaga Beach was a highlight of his career.
After meeting Jean, he moved to Barrie in 1992 where they made their home. He continued in real estate in Barrie until his retirement in 2009. During golfing season, Springwater Golf Course was his "home away from home". Another favourite pastime was fishing, especially on the French River.
A Celebration of Wolfgang's life will be held at Woods Park Care Centre, 110 Lillian Cres. Barrie in the community room on Sat. March 1st at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to RVH Cancer/Palliative Care Unit www.rvh.on.ca or Hospice Simcoe www.hospicesimcoe.ca would be appreciated by the family.
