Hogg, Allan: Passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on June 2nd, 2022. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 54 years, Irene (nee Fowler) Hogg, his daughters Elaine Pratt, Wendy Dennis and Nicole Hogg, his four grandchildren Mackenzie, Owen, Graydon and Oliver, and his favourite cockapoo, Mischa. Allan, the youngest of four children (all predeceased), was born in Catchgate, England in 1939 and grew up as a “Geordie” in the city of Newcastle. From the age of 14, “Big Al” was a passionate darts player, eventually representing Canada during the 70s and 80s at international dart tournaments around the world, and proudly placing second at the Winmau World Masters in 1979. Allan was an avid gardener and handyman, a lover of movies (especially westerns), and football, and he often enjoyed a nice European beer. A Celebration of Life will be organised by the family this summer – details to follow. Arrangements have been entrusted to Peaceful Transition York (2-15236 Yonge Street Aurora) and condolences may be forwarded through peacefultransition.ca

I am so sorry to learn of your loss. Though I never had the pleasure of meeting Allan, he sounds like a man full love and adventure. Knowing Elaine, tells me that he was also a man full of compassion, curiosity and caring.
May your memories sustain you through the tough times and even bring a smile to your face because of the rich life you have all shared together.

I looked him up as I am the daughter of Ernie Storey a very old friend of Allan’s from catchgate to let him know that my dad recently passed away 18th December 2022 and although they had lost touch my dad often spoke of him fondly and I remember meeting him many years ago. So sorry for your loss x
