Funeral Details: Celebration of Life will be held in the spring

Passed away in his sleep, after a valiant effort to keep living his best life, in spite of being besieged by a myriad of debilitating and painful health crisis.

He will be sorely missed by his loving wife Sirpa Seipio, his brothers David Poaps, William Poaps and his sister-in-law Sylvia van Walsum, and many, many good friends. He loved deeply and was deeply loved.

He was a gifted pianist who could make you weep with the beauty of his playing. He loved animals and will be missed by his constant companions Sparkle and Guinevere. He was kind, gentle and caring. He had a quick wit, always ready with his ever-present sense of humour. He worked diligently at Grand and Toy as a buyer and a systems analyst, for decades, until Multiple Sclerosis made things too difficult. He continued to live his motto "A good day is a productive day". He was a choir director, an avid gardener and the love of my life.

We will celebrate Andrew's life in the spring, when everyone can join us. He will be interred in his family burial site in Crystal Lake Cemetery in Stanstead, Quebec.

In Lieu of flowers, donations, to Street Cats, Furry Friends or any charity of your choice would be appreciated.

    Dear Sirpa;
    I am so sorry for your loss and while I knew my nephew Andrew, was not in good health was surprised to learn of other debilitating aspects. I am sure he will find peace and hope you too can move on.
    My last association was when you left Burlington, but did get periodic news from William and Sylvia.
    God Bless;
    Richard (Sam) Poaps

    Dear Sirpa,

    Remembering your darling husband Andrew!
    What I remember about Andrew, is his gentleness, kindness,
    a man that was content with life’s situations and knew how to
    deal with them. A man of few words, but when he spoke, it would be
    something to learn from him! A sensible man, and extremely talented
    on the piano and used his talent for all to enjoy and take it in!
    Bless you Sirpa! You are remembered at this time. You and I carry
    beautiful memories of our husbands!

    Dear Sirpa,

    My sincere sympathy to you. Andrew’s passing is very sad news. His choir participation at Central Church will always be remembered.
    You will find comfort in the knowledge that he is free from pain and now walking with Jesus.

    We were shocked, and saddened, to read of Andrew’s passing, and at such a young age. He was such a kind and thoughtful man. You have our heart-felt sympathy.
