Funeral Details: Celebration of Life to be held at a later date

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Andrew “Red - Poppa” Hoffman on Tuesday June 8, 2021 at the age of 89.

Red dearly treasured his daily routine and conversation with staff and friends at his favourite local dining spots Fil’s Café, Country Kettle and Herb N’ Sage. Red’s sense of humour, quick wit, infectious laugh and smile will be missed by friends and family.

Born in 1932 in Grand Forks, BC, the son of Walter Edwin Hoffman predeceased in 1934 and Hilda Eunice Flaws predeceased in 1973. Red served in the National Defence for over 25 years and finished his working years working with wood as a cabinet maker.  Husband of Elizabeth Berthe Hoffman, Father of Michelle Sinclair of Barrie, Andrew Hoffman of Brampton, David Hoffman and daughter-in-law Linda (nee Baker) Hoffman of Carp, and Terry Hoffman and daughter-in-law Samantha (nee da Costa) Hoffman of Barrie. Poppa cherished and supported his real love—his 8 grandchildren: Sara Sinclair predeceased in 1990, Heather Sinclair, Ian Sinclair, Matt Hoffman, Monica Hoffman, Anna-Lee Hoffman, Jaxon Hoffman, and Julia Hoffman.  They will miss Poppa’s unconditional love and his positive regard for life. Poppa, Dad, Red, Andrew Hoffman loved life and no one escaped without a joke “I’m not just looking good, I’m good looking.”

Family wishes to thank all the staff at Woods Park, Allandale Retirement Residence, Dr. Evans, all the nurses and doctors, and the Bob Rumball Home. Celebration of life will be celebrated at a later date.

Gone from our world, but forever in our hearts.

Sincerely, Hoffman and Sinclair Families (Michelle, Andrew, David, and Terry).
