Dear Katie, and Family – My deep and sincere condolences. The news is as unimaginable today as it was when I heard. The depth and breadth of Ann’s passion for supporting marginalized people was evident in all she did. Canada wasn’t big enough for Ann and she went on missions trips to places like Sri Lanka, Ukraine to teach staff to provide supports in the best, most respectful way. Ann was also a friend, we solved many world problems as our dogs ran around the backyard (Ann even rescued her dog, Zoe!). The world has lost a bright light of change, love and passion while heaven has gained a saint who has come home. Well done good and faithful servant, well done Ann.

I have had the wonderful privilege of knowing the beautiful, compassionate, wise and very knowledgeable person, Ann Gyurmanczi. We served together in ministry at church and on at least two mission trips. Her contribution to our group was invaluable. Although I had not seen her for a while, there is a sadness in my heart knowing she is gone. I’m looking forward to seeing her again in heaven.

To all her family my deepest condolences. I know she will be greatly missed.

” Ann G was our first PM at S3 and Orillia 4 and trained us from the beginning and was always there for us. I am so sad and crying as I write this, she will be always remembered kindly the woman who was so very intelligent, ready for all the Behaviors and challenges we encountered in our first years. One night very late she sat with me in the Orillia hospital restraining a challenging person me on one side her on the other. Her kindness was a tribute to her as well, she would bring her dog in for a visit and after she left, she gave MG from S3 a photo of her loving pet which he loved very much. She didn’t put up with anything that wasn’t going to work for the programs and she let staff go that didn’t work out. Any minute of any day she was always counted on but she trusted her staff as well. Back then she would leave a senior staff in charge if she couldn’t be there. If Ann trusted you, it gave you more confidence because we held her in such high regard. Most of all I will remember that she nominated the whole team for an award from CH that in 2000 we all got certificates and $100. each for our resiliency and what we overcame in the beginning year. Thank you so much Ann, you will be truly missed, your life made a difference and we were all very proud of you and blessed by you. You are one of those people who will always be remembered and loved.”

I am saddened to hear that Ann Gyurmanczi has passed away.
Ann and I became friends when I started my career with Karis Disability Services in 2007. Our friendship grew stronger when, in 2009, I needed to travel to Africa for six months. I asked Ann if she could preach and share the word of God with the congregation one Sunday during my absence. Not only did Ann graciously agree to preach, but she also agreed to come two Sundays to preach and visit a few times during my absence, showing her selfless nature.

Since then, Ann and I have shared stories about how God works miraculously in places with fewer resources. Ann had a passion for missions, so I called her a missionary. Her work has left a significant impact on the lives she touched.
Ann’s passing has left a void in my life that can never be filled. I will miss you dearly, Ann. But until we see each other again, thousands like me will try our best to carry on your legacy of bringing the gospel of peace to the Nations.

    Amani

    Dear Katie and fanily,
We are so sorry that dear Ann is no longer with us. She was an inspirational, wise, fun colleague and friend. Memories of camping, road trips and hanging out with our dogs, sharing a meal are just a few of the great memories we have of her. She knew how to treat people well and was hospitable. She knew how to take on a challenge and see it as an opportunity to grow those around her. She was a great teacher of life and in the classroom. Those of us who sat in a training led by Ann left in good spirits having learned course content in a memorable way. She loved her family very much. Katie your daughter had so much respect and love for you – what a gift she was to all of us – she will be missed!! We are grateful to have know her.

    Love Lori Lei and Lance

My deepest condolences to all the family. My heart is saddened by this loss and can only image the depth of yours. Time spent with Ann was deep, insightful, encouraging and entertaining. She was such a giver and encouraged others to do the same. She was a mover and a shaker, always ready to give of herself and her resources. I will also remember our lunch dates just spending time talking about life. Rest in the arms of Love AnnieG. I will miss you!

    Dear Katie and Family,
It was a shock to hear of Ann’s passing, and I can only imagine how difficult the time since has been. My heart goes out to you, and my prayer is that God’s presence and the prayers of those who love you will help carry you through the days ahead as you miss her and grieve her loss.

I loved reading the messages of condolence and memories of Ann. I admired her courage and spirit of adventure, as well as her loyalty to her teams, and the people on whose behalf she worked.

She loaned me some of her college text books as we shared a love of God and theology. Her favourite book though, was the book of James!

I remember her love of family, her gift in teaching, and her clarity on right and wrong. I am glad to have known her.

Paul isn’t able to attend the funeral tomorrow, but was sorry about that as he respected and appreciated Ann. He sends heartfelt condolences.
