Annette passed away on March 1, 2020, at the age of 81 after a brief battle with cancer. Annette was predeceased by her husband, Robert Leo Cyr, and leaves behind her fiancé, Maurice Legault. Annette also leaves in mourning her children, Bernie Cyr of Barrie, Ontario (wife Nathalie), Pierre Cyr of Chelsea, Quebec (wife Sara Isabel), her grandchildren, Briana and Bailey Cyr, as well as her sisters Amy Vien and Rachelle Blaquiere, and her brother Jean-Paul Mayer.
Annette was also predeceased by her parents Pierre and Madeleine (née Faubert) Mayer, her brothers Gérard and Vincent Mayer, her sisters Anne-Marie Guiho and Rita Papineau, her brothers-in law Normand Cyr, Roger Cyr and Don Bray, her sisters-in-law Edith Landry and Georgette Bray.
Annette was simply the kindest soul one could ever meet, and devoted her life to her family. Friends and family will know that Annette was renown for her desserts, which they would travel long distances for. Annette enjoyed curling and golf, as well as binge-watching movies, well before Netflix ever existed. Annette recently completed her lifelong dream of visiting the Vatican, and was a devout Roman Catholic throughout her life. With signs of dementia starting to show, our family firmly believes that God decided to bless Annette with a diagnosis that provided for her dignified and graceful passing to the heavens.
A funeral service will be held at St. Margaret's Church at 589 Hugel Avenue in Midland, Ontario, at 11:30am on Saturday, March 7, 2020. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the mass in the church hall from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. We wish to thank the staff at Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland for their support of Annette these past few months. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that friends and family do small acts of kindness in the coming days. Annette was always very quick to help others in need, and we hope her passing may inspire others to do the same.
