Arthur Ferguson

October 6, 1937 - March 5, 2023

Funeral Details:

At the age of 85, after a brave battle with Cancer, Arthur Ferguson passed away peacefully at home from pneumonia on March 5, 2023 with his loving family by his side.

He was born October 6, 1937 in Burnley, Lancashire England to Margaret and John Ferguson. Arthur lost his Dad in the war and was raised by his Mom and Sister Jean (predeceased).

At the age of 22, he met the love of his life Kathleen (Birch) and went on to marry her and remained happily married for just shy of 60 years.

He leaves behind 3 daughters his “Arthur’s Angels” Cathie (Tom), Carla (Tim), and Collette (Lino).

His Grandchildren were the light of his life. He loved them so much and was so very proud of them. Lindsie, Leigh, Dario (Lindsey) and Tallon.

Arthur and Kathleen packed up their 3 little girls and moved to Barrie, ON in March 1973 for a “one year” adventure! Although they greatly missed their families and dear friends the Sutcliffes, in their hearts they believed their daughters would enjoy their lives here in Canada. They lived in Barrie for the next 50 years, while never forgetting their roots and Arthur always cheering on his favourite football team the Burnley Clarets! UTC! He also enjoyed watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and was rooting for them to win the Stanley Cup! Go Leafs Go!

Arthur will be dearly missed by Blaine, and many friends, neighbours and fur babies.

We would like to thank Dr. Leslie, Dr. Yuen, Dr. McKenzie, Dr. Yoon and all of their staff for all of the wonderful care they gave. We would also like to thank Heather and the Bayshore Nurses that came to our home and took such good care of him.

Thank you to all of our dear friends for all of your thoughtfulness, love and support.

We are grateful to Peaceful Transitions for carrying out Arthur’s final wishes. There will be no service but a family celebration of his wonderful life.

Arthur was a true family man and his family meant everything to him. He always instilled 3 rules to his girls:

1) Take care of family first and foremost

2) Don’t ever let an issue go unresolved, clear the air and move forward

3) Never forget where you came from

Arthur, Love, Arthuritis, Dadiooo, Popsie, Grandad. All names of LOVE. Your Arthur’s Angels will forever be grateful for the love, support and amazing memories we have. We could not have wished for a better head of the family and we will love you forever.

Our deepest condolences to Auntie Kath, Cathy ,Carla and Collette and family….a lifelong friendship where I still address him as Uncle Art…will miss our conversations (usually about the Leafs) outside his front door . when I was visiting my Mom and sister. Already missing the Saturdays at North street while our parents played cards and we were playing hide and seek or watching Love Boat and Fantasy Island. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything.
