Beverley Audrey Juneau (nee Leclair)

Funeral Details: Celebration of Life to be held at a later time

Beverley Audrey Dina Marie Theresa Juneau (nee LeClair)

Feathers appear when angels are near”

With great sadness we share that Bev passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 15, 2019 at age 76 in Barrie.

She was preceded in 2015 by her beloved soulmate George of over 25 years.   It brings us peace to know they have now rejoined on their next great adventure.  Former spouse of Michael Juneau(predeceased) of over 25 years.

Born February 23, 1943 in Sault Ste. Marie to Leo and Valma (Catling) LeClair. Dear sister of Herbert(predeceased), Audrey, Doug(Shirley), Valdore(predeceased)(Bev),  Brenda(Cliff) and Randall.

Bev was a supportive and loving mother to Annette (Travers) and Darren (Jessica) and an enthusiastic grandmother who will be forever missed by her grandchildren Breanne, Isaac, Emmett, Leyla, Jamie, Michael, Jaxon and Keaton.  Her family was her pride and joy.

She was an amazingly strong matriarch who provided support to her family and will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

In her earlier years, Bev had many hats including being elected as the Reeve of Victoria Harbour and sitting on more committees than can be named.  These positions were very gratifying for her as she liked to make a difference and enjoyed building relationships with people. She was always progressing ahead of the times.

She had many careers but defined herself with her work at The Women and Children’s Shelter of Barrie until her retirement in 2016 at age 73, after 30+ years of service.  Making many friends and a difference in peoples lives over many years in being a resource pillar of the community.

Bev enjoyed her life in Barrie with a beautiful view that she treasured of Kempenfelt Bay, where she also in the past sat on the condo board and remained actively engaged in supporting.

She had a great love of travel which took her to a number of destinations but her home was Cuba with over 80 returns, where she made so many friends over the years and talked of them often.

Bev had a great sense of humor and the ability to crack a timely joke or share a funny story even in her final days. Bev had many great friends and if you were considered one, you were among the lucky. With Bev, it was always what you see is what you get. She was supportive, always up for a good time and always ready to go to bat for something she believed in. Bev will be missed by all those who knew and loved her, and all those lives she touched or helped along the way.

To honour Bev, start living a good life, hold family and friends close, tell them what they mean to you, take pleasure in the little things and travel often.

A private Celebration of Life will take place at a future date.

This extraordinary earth angel truly made the world a better place. I have had the honour of knowing Bev since 1991. Her wisdom, grace and compassion were hallmarks of a soul that soothed so many hearts and made anyone in her presence feel like they were valued. The echo of change and healing for those she championed will be felt forever. Go softly beautiful friend. I will never forget you.

    Annette,Travers,and Breanne, and family,
There are no words that can come near to express the loss that’s felt.
The way her hair moved in a breeze, her laughter in a room, the kindness she showed with conviction, her fierce love of George and her family, the happy in her voice of travel stories and adventures, her loving hugs and the sound of her voice. Will be all the noticable things missed.
My heart aches in the loss.
    Love to you all
    jc and family

I was honoured to know Beverly. I have known Bev for 10 years both in her work as a counsellor for the Women’s Shelter in Barrie as well as her and George being my neighbour and fellow lovers of Cuba. I will miss my friend and the many laughs we shared as well as the loving energy!

    Rest in Peace Bev.

Bev was a wonderful person, very kind and thoughtful of others.

I know her for more than 25 years since I was a little boy about 8 years old. As many years passed, she always returned to Cuba along with her beloved George. They become more than a friend, more like a real family to me and my parents. The fact that my parents’ names are Leo and Vilma always reminded of her parents’ names.

We will miss her and will be in our hearts forever.
    May she rest in peace

What an extra-ordinary woman! She touched so many lives either by generously giving wise counsel, a helping hand, or making us laugh! I am honoured to have known and share “Healing Moments” with Bev.

Bev, you were and still are “one of a kind”. Happy journey dear friend!

Annette, Trav & Breanne, thinking of you during this difficult time and hoping that the memories you have will give you comfort. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to know BJ (how she signed her messages to me) and love the ever-so-sweet soul she was. She was such a beautiful lady inside & out and the accolades above only confirm what we all know – she had a heart of gold. Sending love and hugs to you and your family.

I had the privilege of working with Bev for most of those 30 years at the Women & Children’s Shelter. Our story began when she started work and her car broke down. I loaned her mine to make the commute from Victoria Harbour. There was no way I was losing this incredible co-worker and soon to be lifetime friend to a car problem. So glad I did! She never forgot the favour or the story as it became part of the many stories she would tell of her experiences, people, jobs she had and wisdom she acquired over the years. I have many great memories of Bev like her epic parties and her love for George that she held strong until the end. My favourite memory though would be travelling to Cuba with her and seeing how beloved she was there, getting upgraded rooms because of her and travelling to medical clinics to deliver medical supplies because of her generous spirit….that was seeing Bev in her element as I had seen so many times at work. Generous, kind, unassuming, Bev would show up to events, parties, gathering and just suddenly quietly be gone no goodbye, no hugs, no fuss. Goodbye my friend…I see you, I love you and I will miss you.
