Funeral Details:

Bradley Daymond Ralph
February 22, 1970 - August 03, 2018

After a courageous three month battle to recover from a critical illness with supportive family nearby, our beloved Brad passed away at 48 years of age on August 3, 2018 at Royal Victoria Hospital.

Born in Missisauga he grew up Barrie Ontario where he attended Innisdale S.S. In his early teens Brad’s father arranged weekly drum lessons with Marty Deller of the rock band F.M. which encouraged Brad`s goal to become a musician.

Music teachers Jim Leonard and Chris Ness at Innisdale S.S. were inspirational to him as he and close friend Jeremy Wright wrote songs that won a Battle of the Bands Contest in Barrie which introduced Brad to many professionals of the music industry. One of these people was Much Music V.J. Michael Williams, an admired mentor to Brad. Michael provided sage advice and composed with him on the Nylons album ``Live to Love``.

Brad`s vibrant energy, humour and incredible talent led to an exciting career as a songwriter, producer, remixer and performer for BMG and Universal Music.

After writing and performing with Juno Award winning group ``Love Inc.``, he next co-wrote, remixed and produced songs on N`Sync`s smash hit albums ``No Strings Attached``, Celebrity and J.C. Chasez`s debut album Schizophrenic. He also served as a judge on T.V. singing competition, Popstars 2. We are so proud of his many accomplishments.

Cherished son of Dennis and Evelyn (nee Shortt) loving brother to Christine (Bob) and Sue. Nephew to Gary and Sandi Ralph, Ken and Mary Carlson, and cousin to Gwen, Cheryl, Patrick, David, Morgan, Jeffery, Kate, Shawn, Jennifer, and Dawson.

Brad`s generosity to family and friends the love and laughter he brought to our lives will forever stay in our hearts.

Cremation has taken place through Peaceful Transition in Barrie, On. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
If desired donations may be sent in his memory to the www.diabetes.ca/research.

Im so thankful for my high school memories of Brad as well as the welcoming kindness his family always showed us. Brad was a friend to all and a huge part of my youth from the grade 9 group get togethers to the all night phone calls..teaching me drums….countless breakfasts on our spare and his constant smile.
Please accept my sincerest condolences as you struggle with this unimaginable tragedy. Brad stayed in my heart despite the many years that had passed and I miss him as if it were yesterday we hung out together. Thats the imprint that a truly remarkable person leaves on you. So proud of his accomplishments!! I’ll remember him always as a truly talented good person and kindred friend.

My sincerest condolences to Brad’s entire family. What a great friend he was to me in our early twenties in Toronto. Best times I remember with Brad was cruising around in his white convertible on our breaks and going for lunches during our music apprenticeships in the summer of 1993…….And he was so driven and inspiring.
RIP Brad – you did it ALL in such a short lifetime. God Bless you all.

For many years when I was young and visited Suzie Brad was always such a fun, intense, full of life, smart, interesting, amusing big brother type to me who let us buzz around him and his friends occasionally (often Shane) … even though we could be quite annoying. 😉 . He could usually be found playing the drums, or watching SCTV, Monty Python, or the Monkeys ~ and he schooled us on all kinds of other “cool” things as well. It was always interesting to hear about exciting new projects he forever had on the go – even at such a young age.
Brad was definitely one of a kind, and something massive has been lost. My thoughts and sincere prayers are with his family. He will live on in so many ways. R.I.P. to someone who truly marched to the beat of his own drum ~ and an extremely loud one at that. XOX
