It is with the heaviest of hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Bridget Ann York on May 29th, 2026. Bridget was preceded in death by her parents Francis York and Audrey Parizeau.

She leaves behind a family who will miss her every day. She is survived by her children, Crystal (Robert) Rosilius, Arthur (Erika) Jones, Wayne (Priscilla) Jones and 6 grandchildren: Alexander, Jacob, Logan, Isabella, Aubrey, and Ethan.

She will be missed by her siblings late Frankie York, Alvin (Cathy) York, late Fred (Carol) Maheu, late Marlene Smith, late Brenda (Michael) Caughey, late Philip (late Barb) York, Patsy (Rick) Curnew, Shirley (Len) Humphreys, late Gail (Arthur) Fahl, Morris (late Theresa) Beauchamp, late Lenard Beauchamp, Pauline (late Bert) Horad, Joyce (late Butch) Lorking, and Donald (Anna) Beauchamp.

Bridget will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She will be deeply missed by her pets Amstel and Frankie.

On May 29th, the world got a little quieter. Bridget was not just a mother; she was the best friend anyone could ask for. She touched the hearts of every person she met. To know Bridget was to know her greatest privilege in life was being a mother and the best grandmother she could be. She taught us the importance of strength, kindness, and resilience. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched. Bridget loved to laugh and play jokes, as laughter is the music of life. She was a jack of all trades, but prior to retirement she worked as a custodian for 20 years. She taught us all about hard work and instilled a great work ethic into everyone who knew her. She was kind and generous, always taking care of her family, friends and even strangers. She was the most incredibly strong, compassionate, and stubborn woman, who anyone could have had the privilege of knowing.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday June 7th, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sheba Shrine located at 142 John Street, Barrie to share memories and say until we meet again.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society www.cancer.ca or a charity of your choice.

Oh Ma you will be missed! You are the only one who could make short jokes about me and I wouldn’t get mad about it. I will miss hearing ‘Hey there shrimp’ anytime I ran into. You were an amazing person and an amazing so privileged to have known you and considered you family. This world just got a little dimmer without you here. Rest easy Ma, until we meet again because this isn’t goodbye, it’s I’ll see you when I’ll see you xo.

Making lemonade out of lemons was one of Bridget’s wonderful gifts and examples of how to take on “life”.
She had lots of challenges in her life, regardless, she always greeted everyone with her beautiful smile and sparkling eyes.

She worked extremely hard and always did her very best in all the jobs she held. Reliable and dedicated to her jobs she would help where ever and when ever there was more work than expected because she was a true “Team Player” I respected her so much for those superb qualities.

As a mother, Bridget was loving and wonderful, understanding and caring. She loved her family with all of her heart and would be one to walk across water if she could, to help her kids.
Bridget also had an incredible/loving bond with her adoring daughter Crystal. She was extremely proud of all of Crystal’s accomplishments as well as the beautiful woman that Crystal is.This bond extends beyond time and space and was a true testament to the best mother daughter relationships I have ever been a witness of. Bridget was an adoring grandmother of all of her grandchildren, she was extremely proud of what kind/loving humans they all were and she adored her relationship with all of them. They meant the world to her and loved her so much, they were pure joy for her.

As a friend Bridget, was someone that everyone could rely upon, a generous, kind, authentic and devoted woman. Her spirituality was woven into her life as a beautiful tapestry. This guided her to always do her very best, love as much as she could and be an example for all of those around her. She will be sorely missed and never forgotten. May she be surrounded by love, laughter of those who passed on before her who have waited to embrace her with loving arms.
