    Patti, Erika, Meagan and families,
Please know I cannot find words to express this epic loss for your family or the community.  Bruce and yourselves supported my girls and I through a difficult time in our lives.   It was a debt I could never repay.   I try every day to extend a similar love, empathy and understanding for those I come into contact with.  Patti, Bruce and yourself became my greatest mentors.   I hope only to honour his memory by continuing to “pay it forward”.

Patti and all of Bruce’s beloved family:

I am saddened to hear of Bruce’s passing – I have seldom seen him without a big smile and that is certainly how I will remember him.  Just two years ago I was presumed to have myasthenia gravis and was put through tests at Toronto General.  In the end, I had strabismus and underwent surgery to correct severe double vision.  I know how dreadful this disease is, and for some time I was in contact with on-line sufferers whose stories touched my deeply.  My heart sinks when I hear of someone suffering MG’s terrible affects.  Bruce was such an active guy, a proud firefighter and mechanic, and a happy soul.  Your family has no doubt watched Bruce decline over time, in every way possible.  I am not able to attend Bruce’s Memorial Gathering today, but I have not been able to get out of my mind how unfair life seems, when a person with so much love of life has to suffer so cruelly.  My deepest condolences to you, Patti, I know from my own life how devastating it is to watch your loving husband fail day by day.  May God Bless you all, and remember that Bruce was a gift who has touched many lives and leaves many happy memories in the hearts of those who knew him.

    Sylvia.

We are so very sorry and saddened to learn of Bruce’s passing.  He was a genuine gentleman, caring, loving and fun-loving person (usually involving Scotch), quick to laugh and always willing to tell a joke or two. He was committed in his chosen career and just as committed to his family. Patti, you must have a million-and-one memories of him and we hope those will bring a smile to your face and warm your heart at this difficult of times.
    With heartfelt sympathy,

    Joe & Lorraine
