Funeral Details: Friday, June 7, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Knob Hill United Church - 23 Gage Ave, Scarborough, Ontario, M1J 1T3

Carol Helen Victoria Petroff passed away on May 18, 2024 at the age of 85, surrounded by her children.

Loving mother to Kathleen, Kelly and Derek (Lee Anne), Grandmother to Devon (Karl-Ann) and Tyler (Shawna) and Great-Grandmother to Desmond, Ezekiel, Sadie and Kade. Predeceased by her brother Larry.

Carol attended and supported Knob Hill United Church and worked as an ECE in their Day Care for a time. She had many careers in her life. She was a clerk at Imperial Oil, typist at Bell Telephone, records clerk at Scarborough General Hospital, lunchroom supervisor at Knob Hill Elementary School and a Toronto Public Library worker.

Carol found joy in her garden. She made and dressed porcelain dolls and won awards for them at the Canadian National Exhibition. She had a fondness for antiques and collectibles. She supported the Royal Canadian Legion and loved to attend their weekly dances and karaoke. She looked forward to going to the "slots" (casino). She wrote poetry and "Psychological 'Up' Phrases"-- her favourite saying was, "Do your best, the heck with the rest ". She enjoyed participating in activities at the Keswick Adult Day Program (notably their Dance Party Fridays) and treasured the sunsets over Lake Simcoe.

Carol loved life and loved her family. She will be missed by all-- including her brother Fred and his family and her relatives in London, Ontario and surrounding areas.

The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Margaret Bahen Hospice for keeping Carol comfortable during her time in their care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Knob Hill United Church in Scarborough on Friday, June 7 at 1:00 pm with a catered reception to follow.
