It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cathy MacPherson on August 1, 2024, in Newmarket, Ontario.
Cathy was the beloved mother of Stevie (Bill), Brad, and Kendall, and a proud grandmother to Kyden, Kayleigh, Caitlynn, Linzie, and William. She was the cherished sister of Darlene (Her best friend), Cheryl, and Melody. She is predeceased by her parents, Reginald and Margaret (Peggy).
Born in Englehart, Ontario, Cathy developed a deep love for small-town life and the great outdoors. She was a woman of strength, resilience, and selflessness, who devoted her life to her children and grandchildren, who were her greatest pride and joy.
Cathy loved camping, fishing, and good old country music. Her spontaneous bursts of song and dance brought joy to those around her. She cherished her daily phone conversations with her sister, and being a grandmother was her greatest joy—she was simply the best.
Cathy had a heart of gold and was always ready to help anyone in need, no matter the circumstances. She loved with her whole heart, and her home was always open to everyone. She was the heart and soul of our family, a strong and independent woman with a personality that was larger than life.
Cathy will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In lieu of flowers donations in Cathy’s memory to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation www.heartandstroke.ca would be greatly appreciated by the family.
