It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Conrad Blain Darling on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the age of 74. He was given the peace he wanted from Pulmonary Fibrosis while at Andy’s House in Port Carling, Ontario.
Blain was born August 22, 1951 in Bracebridge, Ontario. He moved to Thunder Bay where he met Christine. They were married August 31, 1973. Their next move was to Sioux Lookout, Ontario, where Blain learned to love flying in the Cessna and Beaver aircraft to locations in the far north while working for Indigenous and Northern Affairs. Their final move was back to his hometown of Bracebridge, Ontario.
He is survived by his cherished daughters; Jennifer and Heather (Jeff) and their mother; Christine, his grandson; Parker, his brother; Colin (Heidi), his sister; Monica (Gord), and his loving partner; Patricia.
Blain was predeceased by his parents Bruce and Clodeen (née Lalone) Darling, and his brother, Tim.
Our family would like to thank the dedicated staff at SMMH for their understanding and expertise with Blain during his stay. Also, a sincere thank you to everyone at Andy’s House hospice for their kindness, respect and extraordinary care given to Blain.
As per Blain’s wishes, there will be no service - In lieu of a funeral service, please donate to the OSPCA or Andy's House Hospice, in memory of him.

Posted on: Wednesday, March 18, 2026Chris, Heather, and Jen, I’m so sorry for your loss. Blain was such a kind guy. He thought of everyone and was so warm and welcoming into your family. Blain treated Jeff, my brother, like his own son. He filled a big void. Parker will always love and miss him. We were lucky to know him. Kindest thoughts for to Patricia. In our thoughts, Alison and Mouktar.
