Curtis “Bud” Vincent

Funeral Details: Private family arrangements

Curtis Boyde Vincent ‘Bud’, age 91, died in his home at Barrie Manor in Barrie Ontario on Saturday, July 16, 2022.  He passed peacefully in his sleep after a battle with liver disease.  Born March 27, 1931 in York, Ontario to George and Eliza (nee King) Vincent.

Bud lived primarily in Mississauga and Barrie and worked at Lexsuco/Lexcan, a commercial roofing company, as a warehouse manager until his retirement.

Bud will be especially remembered for being a wonder father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  Bud loved to golf, he was a wonderful cook, and was also very independent right until the last year of his life.  He had a generous heart and a wonderful sense of humour.  We always joked that he would get on an elevator with a group of people and come off it knowing all of them.  Bud made friends everywhere he went and will be remembered for always bringing life and laughter to any event.

Survivors include his daughter Stephanie (Darryl), proud Papa to Emily (Mike), Adam (Samantha) and Abby all residing in Barrie Ontario.  In 2019 he also became a Great Papa to Mia, she held a very special spot in his heart and he raved about her often.  Also survived by his brother Ken (Marianne) of Peterborough, nephews Mark and Chris and his nieces Cynthia (Rod) of Orillia Ontario and Darlene (Brad) of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and their families.  Bud was preceded in death by Maize Brady, his sister.

A service date has not been set as yet but family will be notified once arrangements have been settled.  Bud did not want his death to be mourned but his life to be celebrated.  His goal was to make it to 90 and he surpassed that by one year.  He was truly a remarkable man, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many.  He will be missed by all but remembered with happiness in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are welcome at The Canadian Liver Foundation (liver.ca).

Thanks to all the nurses and doctors at RVRHC on the 3rd floor, inpatient ward and to the wonderful staff at Barrie Manor that made his brief stay warm and welcoming for him.
