Funeral Details:

THORNHAM, James David

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of James David (Dave) Thornham.  Dave passed away on December 4, 2017 surrounded by family.  Dave leaves Nancy, his wife of 47 years, children Jamie (Sarah) and Suzanne (Sandy), grandchildren Claire, Neve, Abigail, and Jay and siblings Susan (Maureen), John (Joyce), and Pauline (George).

Dave was a kind and generous man who enjoyed road trips with Nancy in his Yukon and spent many happy summers on Sesekinika Lake. In recent years, Dave took much pleasure in volunteering with COPE Service Dogs and “dog-sitting” his newest best friend, Posh, the yellow lab.

Dave had many friends across Canada and the US because of his long and varied career in mining.  Dave will be missed by all the lives he touched.   A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Donations may be made in his memory to COPE Service Dogs: http://copedogs.org/ 75 Dyment Road, Barrie, Ontario, L4N 3H6, 705-734-COPE (2673).

Nancy, I’m so distressed to hear you’ve lost your wonderful spouse and dear, dear friend, Dave.  You’ve shared such an interesting and exciting life together, which will give you many happy memories to look back on.  I’m so glad to have known Dave through you.  His many involvements in life, particularly latterly with COPES, have been of great interest to me.  What a kind, good man.  We shall all miss him, but none more than you.

Nancy and Family,  I am heartbroken to hear the news of Dave’s passing.  It was so unfortunate that we did not get together when you guys where in Corner Brook last summer.  Dave was a great boss and friend to me while I worked at Hope Brook Gold Inc. We certainly shared in a lot of good times together, great memories, especially of you home on Halloween, Nancy! He will truly be missed.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Nancy, Jamie and Suzie,  I can’t believe what I just read!!  We hadn’t heard about Dave’s passing until Doug was just on face book and saw it.  I feel sick and wish soo much we lived closer to be with you.  I will call you tomorrow.  You and the family are in our thoughts and prayers.  I commented on the picture of Dave, Jamie and grandson–I feel so badly. Love, Doug, Judy Bryanne and Marla. .
