Funeral Details: A Celebration of Life to be held at a later date

David Walter (Belbeck) of Aurora, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was the lifelong husband and best friend of Linda Walter (Trimble). He leaves behind his children Lindsay, Andrew (Tara), Laura and Alison. He will be missed by his grandchildren Michael, Natalie and Kristina Walter; his sister in law Carol Forsythe (Bruce), brother in law Bob Trimble (Linda), his sister Katie McKian (Bob) and many nieces and nephews. His good friends at the Aurora Seniors Badminton Club will have to play on without him. We have all appreciated their ongoing support over the last two years as well as our friends Nancy and Ralph Birtch, Vicky and Steve Bush, Brenda and Owen Warder, Loretto and Phil Bender and Debbie and Skip Williams (PEI); as well as so many more friends and relatives for their love, quilts, cozy socks, Warm Buddies (Theresa and Pete Grayson), food deliveries and good company.
David went into foster care at 7 days old with Bernice and Harford Leitch and spent his early years on their farm. The entire Leitch family has been his family ever since and he cherished their love and support.
David and Linda met in grade 12 at Sutton High and were married for almost 47 years. He graduated from the University of Toronto as a civil engineer. Later he turned those math skills into a new career as an investment advisor and loved every minute of it.
He retired in 2003 and he and Linda travelled a great deal until finally finding their second home on Ft Myers Beach Florida. As with all their homes it needed renovating and they loved working together on it. It was just completed when David was diagnosed with cancer. We will miss him a great deal. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held when the world allows it.

I am so sorry that Dave will no longer be at your side but I know he will live on forever in your heart and memories. I’m sure you know him so well that he will remain a partner in your thoughts, chipping in his two bits’ worth to help you navigate through the years ahead. He was much too young to lose and miss out on all the love and laughter that your family shares. Although robbed of the quantity of years, you were so richly blessed by the lives you had together. Forty-seven years together is a remarkable feat in itself, the fact that you remained best friends through those years is an even rarer accomplishment. I will be thinking of you with love as you work through this sad transition. Cousin Elaine

It has been our very good fortune to have David and Linda as neighbours for the last 10 years. We will especially miss David’s keen sense of humour in commenting on local happenings and the accompanying twinkle in his eyes. We will also miss his seated but active presence in their driveway as he supervised his grandkids on their scooters and bicycles. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Linda and family.
