Dirk was a wonderful husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, loving son and a big brother to all his siblings. He was all about family and made everyone feel welcomed. He always treated my son Tyson and I as family and he will be forever missed. He was taken too soon but now we have an angel watching over us. Thinking of Debbie, Sean , Alex and family during this difficult time. And to the entire MacLeod family we send our love.

I have worked with many people that require the aboriginal connection to the project. I have met and worked with dirk many times and I have come to realize that he is my friend. He always bragged that he was ten minutes away from Cabelas and that ticked me off. Through his kindness, he offered to buy something from the store from me, but I refused.
I was lucky to meet him and call him my friend. I wish more was said and more was done, but we are all under the notion people will be around forever. rest well dirk, I miss you.

Dirk MacLeod has been a regular name in our office for the last couple few years, and his passing came to complete shock to all of us. Working with him on projects, we were impressed by his honesty and directness, and how he truly appreciated & cared for the First Nation’s communities along the James Bay coast.

On a personal note, I will miss his good humour, the funny videos of him singing and playing guitars, but also on his explanations of different technologies to which he was a true professional. I will miss him.

From us at FONEX DATA Systems, we offer our deepest condolences to Dirk’s family and close friends.

All of us at FONEX were shocked by the news of Dirks passing. His name came to represent honesty and directness, but also of passion towards his customers; the First Nation’s communities along the James Bay coast.

Working with Dirk, I quickly saw that that he was true professional and willing to share his knowledge. I learned & re-learned many things during installations, to which he was a excellent teacher. After hours , watching his videos of him playing guitar and singing on stage brought laughter to those sitting at the table. I am glad he got to see the Rolling Stones recently a few weeks back.

Personally, I am a better man for knowing him and will put into practice his teachings. I will miss him.

I am very sad to hear of Dirk’s sudden passing. We were friends in Brockville, worked together in Kingston and continued to collaborate on projects in recent years – all the while remaining friends. I will always have a deep respect for Dirk and will miss him greatly.
