Donald “Glen” Sanderson

April 23, 1955 - June 5, 2025

Funeral Details: A celebration of life will be held in his memory, with details to follow.

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Donald “Glen” Sanderson, who passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, at Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket, Ontario.

Glen was the devoted partner of Lynda, and the proud and loving father of Mitchell, Alex, Katelyn, and Steven. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister Gail, and his large extended family of nieces and nephews whom he cherished.

Glen was known for his quick wit, big heart, and unwavering commitment to those he cared about. He was deeply involved in his community over the years, offering support, understanding, and encouragement to others on their wellness journey. His story of resilience left a lasting impact on many lives.

A lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Glen followed his team with passion and unwavering hope. He loved to travel, play golf, and rarely passed up the chance to share a joke. He was a talented guitarist, often filling the house with music, especially the timeless songs of The Beatles.

Glen’s legacy is one of resilience and perseverance. He showed us the meaning of strength as he fought a valiant battle with cancer. His absence will be felt deeply, but his presence will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Ontario SPCA York Region Animal Centre https://ontariospca.ca/yorkregion/, in honor of Glen’s deep love and devotion to his animals.

“And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.”

It is with great sadness that we hear of Glen”s passing. We have such beautiful memories of spending so much time together watching hockey games or being at the Canadian open. Just enjoying great food and conversation. Maybe we all have beautiful memories to help us during this difficult time.

Dear Lynda, Alex, Mitchell, Katelyn, Steven and the rest of Glen’s Family.

I have known Glen since we went to CDI Computer College together ( in 2000), and have worked with and shared a great friendship ever since.

I have no words on the loss of a great person, and I will miss him dearly. We had great times together socially with our computer geek friend Rick, and great times working together on client jobs over the years.

Glen, you’ve gone though some tough times over the years, and I wish you the peace you now deserve.

Rest in Peace my dear Friend….

A truly great brother in law, one who we could always count on, always knew when we were together we were in for some good laughs and sometimes a couple games of bowling on the Wii 😂
You were a wonderful Dad and I’m sure the kids are feeling your loss deeply.
Although we lost touch the last few years, you were often in our thoughts and prayers.
Glenn you will certainly be missed in this life by all those who knew you and loved you as we did.
    ❤️ Rest now 🙏
    Kim & Scott

A wonderful person who cared deeply for his family, and a true Pal who shared his great sense of humor and love of golf, music, and chicken wings (the hotter, the better)!
