Funeral Details: Private Family Arrangements

Don finished his final 18 holes at Bayview and has joined all of his friends in the club house.

Marie, his wife of 71 years, his son Mike and daughter Lisa will miss him very much.

Along with his sister Lyn Gower, family and friends will remember him at his happiest with the fairway under his feet and a golf club in his hands.

A member of Bayview Country Club for over 50 years he was proudest when he was playing with his friends in the Mealia Memorial Annual tournament that he ran for over 40 years in conjunction with John and Mike Mealia, whom he loved very much.  God children, Meghan, Lisa and Peter Walker also got their love of the game from Uncle Don.  Don worked proudly for Norm and Hill Associates for over 50 years.

The family would like to thank our dear family friend Dr. Terry Reingold for taking such good care of Don throughout all of the years.  The angels, who make up the staff at Margaret Bahen Hospice, once more helped our family during a very difficult time. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

Due to our family’s love of dogs, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to Sue’s Rescue Animal Sanctuary (suesrescueinc@aol.com)

We will remember Don full of life, love and laughter.

Peaceful Transition York

My Dad found that his true happiness was being in the company of people that he loved. His 50 years of experiences at Bayview Country Club are a testament to that truth, it wasnt really the golf that he was addicted to, though many might have seen it that way. It was the pleasure of being with his dearest friends enjoying life and laughter together. And maybe a Bayview martini. As a result of those connections he brought many wonderful families into our families lives. My Mom, my sister, and I want to thank everyone of you for making my Fathers life so richly blessed by the memories that you created with him. And for the lasting friendships that he and we all treasure.

Im certain the friends that passed before him will be there for him now, and some like Ron, and Jack, and Joe, and Phil, and of course Larry, will make him feel at home in his new surroundings.
