Funeral Details: Private family arrangements

Passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, ON on June 25, 2026, at the age of 80 years.

Beloved son of the late Donald and Ann Baird.  Loving husband of Joanne for 56 years.  Devoted father of Jeremy (Ashley) and Drew.  Cherished grandpa of his "little sport," Scarlett.  Dear brother of Rod (Roseanne), and the late Earl and Allen, and is survived by his sisters-in-law, Lazina and Diane, as well as his aunts, Helen and Lynn.  Donn is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Donn was known for his wonderful sense of humour and his ability to make people laugh.  A natural jokester, he loved being around others and never missed an opportunity to connect with someone.  He treasured his family and was known to them as “a great man and good provider”.  He was close to his brothers and for many years enjoyed having breakfast with his brother Earl.

Donn had an exceptional work ethic and dedicated 36 years of service to Brewers Retail, where he took great pride in his work.

Before starting their family, Donn and Joanne enjoyed travelling together and created many wonderful memories.  He was an avid sports fan who especially loved baseball and cheered on the Toronto Blue Jays.  GO Jays GO!

Private family arrangements have been entrusted to Peaceful Transition.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.

Online memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.peacefultransition.ca (http://www.peacefultransition.ca/).

Good morning. My deepest condolences to Donn’s family and loved ones.

We may have been “just a customer” (50006), but to us, Donn was so much more than a representative of Brewers. There was never a better ambassador for the company. I will truly miss our conversations and his genuine service mentality, which I don’t believe was ever fully appreciated.

He made a lasting impression through his kindness, professionalism, and dedication. He will be greatly missed.

Wishing the entire family strength and comfort during this difficult time.
    Cm.

    I am so
Sorry for your loss, in the short time I knew Donn, he was a man of few words, but he knew how to joke and get you to laugh regardless. I am glad I got to know him.
