Funeral Details: Private family arrangements

Passed away peacefully with family at her side on December 17, 2025, at the age of 90 years.  Beloved daughter of the late Truman and Valeta Paton.  Beloved and cherished wife of Ellis for 70 years.  Loving mother of David (Susan), Craig, and Patricia (Norm).  Cherished grandmother of Cheryl (Luke), Douglas (Colleen), Amanda, and Robert (Ashley), and proud great-grandmother of Tyson (Emily), David, Emma, Breanne, Aiden, Elliot, and Abby.  Dear sister of Eleanor and the late Carole-Ann.

Donna was an old-fashioned girl at heart who deeply loved her family and took great joy in keeping a family tree of everyone she held dear.  She was a devoted sports fan, cheering on her Toronto Maple Leafs year after year.  Donna enjoyed listening to old rock and roll and country music.  A true homebody, she found comfort and peace in her home, where family always came first.

Positive in nature, Donna was a wonderful example to those around her.  In her later years, she set two meaningful goals: to celebrate her 70th wedding anniversary and to live to the age of 90, both of which she proudly achieved.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements are private for the family.

As I think of you Mom, I will recall the last paragraph of ‘The Dash Poem’.

‘For it matters not, how much we own,
    the cars…the house…the cash
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend OUR DASH’

I will cherish all of my memories of how much you meant to Norman and I.
How you loved fiercely, and how we loved you back.

    You will be remembered lovingly.
    We love you more. XO

smiling at the memories of Aunt Donna, her contagious smile & positive little messages in every card she gave for each occasion.
she loved to keep the memory of my late grandma & showing or giving me items that belonged to her.
She will forever be missed & her love & kindness will carry on through us all.

    Love you, Auntie Donna.

Thinking about all the good times/memories I have with Donna. She was a very important part of my life and I will miss her a lot. Donna always had a smile and was always in a good mood, we always enjoyed our visits and looked forward to seeing each other. She was always at every family gathering and reunions. She always started/ended every visit with a hug, a kiss and a “I love you!”
RIP Donna Gone But Not Forgotten.
