Doreen Lilian Howard (nee Pomeroy)

Our family is heartbroken to announce the very sudden but peaceful passing of Doreen after a brief illness at RVRHC in Barrie on May 17, 2026.  Doreen, in her 83^rd year.

Loving wife of Bruce for 61 years.  Amazing and much-loved mum to Andrew Howard (Christine), and Jennifer Lalonde (Michel).  Adored grandma/neema to Jacob, Gabriel, and Victoria (Jordan).  Special “grandma Doreen” to Anthony, Connor, and Brooklynne.  Doreen also leaves behind her siblings, Sandra, Lee (Liz), and Cindy (Jeff), as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend thanks to the nurses at RVH for treating her with dignity and comfort in her final hours.

Doreen’s greatest passion was her love for her family; her grandchildren brought a special sparkle to her eye and pride to her face.

Cremation entrusted to Peaceful Transition.  A private family Celebration of Life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the RVH auxiliary would be appreciated by the family.
