It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful mother and grandmother, in her 94th year on December 11, 2018 in Barrie Ontario. She was full of love, generosity and common sense and will be held in our hearts forever. Mum is survived by her husband, Malcolm Mortley, daughters, Joanne Bauerlein (Don), Carol Smith (Paul), as well as her grandchildren, Paul Dale (Kayla), Steve Dale and Sarah Smith and great grandchildren, Jacob, Ashlynn, Carter and Olivia. She is predeceased by her daughter, Cynthia Donna and her sister, Marion Pew. A private service will be held in Mum's hometown of Niagara Falls (date to be determined). The family would like to thank all the staff at Hospice Simcoe for helping us through this journey. In absence of flowers, we would request donations be made to Hospice Simcoe in her memory -- such a worthy cause. Godspeed Mum, We love you. Until we meet again...

Posted on: Friday, December 14, 2018Dear Carol, it is said that we are each a mere shadow of our parents, and although I didn’t know your mother, I know you, Carol; she was surely a wonderful mother bigger than life itself. She lives on in you, and everyone she touched. My deepest condolences.
