    Dear Bill, I am thinking about Doreen as I do often and thinking how much she meant to me. I remember when I was first married to your brother and how she took me under her wing. We had such fun together and even after the kids were grown and we were old we could still reminisce about dragging the kids to Yorkville on the bus, strollers and all and how we laughed at the poor bus driver. Those years that we went to Myrtle Beach with you were one of best times of my life. You and Doug would go golfing and Doreen and I would go all over the countryside. We would shop and she loved the little boutique shops. Remember the Waccamaw Mall. We could spend a whole morning there and she loved it. When you guys got home we would do something in the afternoon even if only a walk on the beach. She loved to walk didn’t she? She could walk for miles on the beach and I could hardly keep up to her. I will always treasure those times with her. She loved you and the kids so much and really wanted to do everything for everyone. She had a wonderful sense of humour and was always so kind. Doug and I send our heartfelt sympathy to you and the kids. She will be terribly missed but what a wonderful gift she was to everyone who knew her. Don’t forget that you have lots of family who love you and how much all those kids and grandchildren still need you.

    Uncle Bill and family,
    I wanted you to know how very sorry we are for your loss. I can only imagine how hard the past few years have been for all of you but as a family you loved, supported and stayed by Auntie Doreen’s side during her illness. She was such a wonderful, kind and sweet person who loved her family. Stay strong and remember all the wonderful times you shared together. We are thinking about you all at this difficult time and send our love.

    Dear Bill and family;
    Please accept my condolences for Doreen. I have just recently learned of her passing. Doreen was and is such and amazing woman, she always kept me on my toes. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of her care team at Mill Creek. Bill, my friend, I am so sorry for what you must be going through. I know how much you love Doreen. I saw the love everytime you visited the with her. I could see the light in her eyes everytime you came and took her out for walks. I always would think to myself that the love between you and Doreen is the love I aspire to have with my husband. You and Doreen taught me that and neither of you even knew. I am so sad that I did not get to say goodbye to her and to you Bill and your family. I will cherish the memories of you both for as long as I can.
    Samantha West, nurse, 3East, Mill Creek Care Centre
