Doris Billinger

Funeral Details: November 9, 2019 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm St. Paul’s Anglican Church

BILLINGER, Doris Edith (nee Watson)
June 29, 1930 Toronto, Ontario – October 30, 2019, Barrie, Ontario

It is with broken hearts that we announce the loss of our beloved Mom. She passed in peace surrounded by her loving son and daughter at Grove Park Home, the morning of Wednesday, October 30, 2019.

Our mother was kind, generous, unconditionally loving, smart, funny; and so much more that words alone can’t convey. If her sheer love and gratitude for life were music, Mom would be a huge mass pipes, drums and brass band, which she loved. We are grateful we had her in our lives as an example of how to live a good life. We will miss her dearly, each day and forever.
We are comforted by imagining that she is together again with our father, her beloved husband of over 56 years, Norman Billinger (2006) and our sister Christine Elliott (2018).

She will be remembered with love by her sister Betty Mark.

Grieving her loss are her son Steven Billinger and his wife Hilary Walker, her daughter Cindy Starnino and partner Mike Sindrey; and son-in-law Wm. Bill Elliott.
Cherished Grandma/Nanny to Hannah Billinger, Colton and Shawna Starnino, Christopher Elliott and to Michelle and her husband Lance Hackett.

She will be remembered always by her great grandchildren Brianna, Jayden and Jake and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Our sincerest thank you to Sandy, Marcia, Denton and everyone on Spruce Ward at Grove Park Home, Barrie for their obvious love for Mom, their dedication and care; and for providing Mom some of the happiest times of her life.

Cremation has occurred.
A Celebration of Life will be held November 9 from 1 – 4 at Saint Paul’s Anglican Church in the Hall (located at the corner of Yonge Street and Mapleview Drive East, 54 St. Paul’s Crescent, Barrie Ontario, L9J 0E2 Please, no black attire.

Kim and I send our condolences and thoughts to all of you. Knowing Mrs.B. the way I did, for as long as I did … whenever I was in her presence it was like being with ‘mom.’ Whatever woe she was carrying she never let it interfere with your time with her. She would smile, laugh quickly and often with energy, making you feel good! How instinctively unselfish and giving was she. When I met my wife Kim, introducing her to Mrs. B. was like introducing her to MY mom. Such was her stature to me. So many of us will miss her light, in the dark of the wee small hours. Thank you Mrs.B.
