Passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie on June 12, 2023, in her 77th year. Cherished mother of Karen Grigsby of Toronto. Beloved sister of Heinz Stier (Charlotte) of Barrie, Erika Neher (Gerry) of Orillia, Renate Meurer (Erich), and Erich Stier (Rosemarie), both of Germany.
Predeceased by her husband Jim Murdoch (Jan. 21, 2022), her sister Hilde Thompson (2011), her brother-in-law Bill Thompson (2018), and by her nephew Chris Thompson (2021). She will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Doris was a retired teacher after a fulfilling career in education, having taught in Barrie, Orillia, Marchmont, and Kingston. Cremation has taken place. As per Doris’ wishes, there will be no service or Celebration of Life.
