Dorothy Ruth Kenney, a gentle and kind soul, passed away on January 26, 2024, at the age of 96. Dorothy was known for her beautiful smile and a deep appreciation for nature and all of God's creatures.

Throughout her life, and especially during her battle with Alzheimer's, Dorothy was always grateful for the unwavering support and care provided by her family, nurses, PSWs, and caregivers. Her favourite expression to those assisting her was a heartfelt "Thank you, dear, you are so good to me," accompanied by a warm smile.

Lovingly remembered by her daughters Donna Graham (Roger), Lillian Wilkinson (Brian), grandchildren Ronnie, Terri-Ann, Joey, & James and great-grandchildren Cody, Max, Sam, Ella, Jack, Amelia & Austin.

Survived by her brother Willy Hallahan and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Dorothy was predeceased by her devoted husband, Jack Kenney, with whom she shared 75 years of love and companionship, as well as her brothers Jake, Jimmy Joe, and sister Peggy. May she rest in peace, reunited with her loved ones in God's house.

The family extends their gratitude to Owen Hill LTC for the care provided to Dorothy. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association Barrie Branch www.alzheimer.ca/simcoecounty/en  are greatly appreciated, honouring Dorothy's memory and supporting a cause close to her heart.

May Dorothy's legacy of kindness and gratitude live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

So Very Sorry to hear of your mom Dorothy’s passing. It was always a pleasure to see her (and your dad, Jack) when we neighbour’s in Holly. It’s unfortunate that Alzheimer’s has taken away so much of her “golden years” to such a wonderful lady. I remember my sister and I going to the Kenny house where we were treated so well on Halloween with lots of goodies!! So very sorry we will be unable to attend your mom’s memorial service as we are in Florida for the winter. In her honour we have made a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time!

I was sorry to hear the Dot had passed. I remember growing up and going to their house in Holly. Mapleview is now a huge street not like the dirt rode we used to play on. I will miss her lots. Thoughts and prayers.
