Edmund “Ed” Emsley

July 2, 1955 - November 25, 2025

Funeral Details: A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2026 (date to be determined)

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we share the loss of our beloved Ed who passed away suddenly at the age of 70, with his loving family by his side.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but especially by his wife Jackie and children Andrew (Patty), Douglas (Jessica), Stephen (Talysia), and Jennifer (Aman).  His siblings Jane (Jack), Lee (predeceased), Ruth (Stirling), Doug (Tamara), Jim, Joanne (Jody), sister-in-law Trish (Sandy), and his many nieces and nephews.

Ed was born in Newmarket, ON and raised in Keswick before settling in Innisfil.  He worked many jobs (mechanic, home builder, long haul truck driver, and heavy equipment operator, to name a few) and was considered a jack of all trades.  He was always there to help everyone and was the go-to handy man amongst his family and friends. “Ed’s Garage” was always open for business. He was a workaholic but when he wasn’t at work, he enjoyed golfing with his friend Andrew, hanging out with his friend Rob, and puttering on cars.  Our lives will not be the same without him.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2026 (date to be determined) and we would love to hear your funny stories of him.

I have had a few days to thinks of all the wonderful things you did for me big brother. All the time we worked together. You taught me everything I know about the trade I followed you in.
You and Jackie literally saved the life of a troubled kid brother. I was the lucky one because I got to spend 2 wonderful weeks with you just days before you passed.
I sit and think now how two old men were laughing at all the crazy stunts two brothers ,young and strong did. The homes we built for people and family. You always telling me to be careful and I would just roll my eyes. We joked how old we are now while ridding in your truck. Thank you for letting me spend precious time with you before you left us. Today my heart is broken. I wish Jackie and your children peace and love.
I will miss you big brother.
      Love you always.

Ed was such a wonderful man. No words can express how sorry I am for your loss. He was a very good friend but also so much more. It was a privilege and honour to have known him and may his memory live on forever.
