Edward ‘Ted’ Boyd Huston

BARRIE -  Edward ‘Ted’ Boyd Huston, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2021 at the Owen Hill Care Community after a short, non-COVID related illness.

Born on August 4, 1947 in Toronto, Ontario, Ted was a proud member of the York Lions Drum Corps, where he played the baritone horn and the contrabass. Ted was also a baseball enthusiast, a Toronto Blue Jays lifelong fan, and a respected Barrie Minor Baseball Association coach, and mentor to many young players. Ted spent 50 years in the trucking industry, first as a driver and later as an owner and operator.

Ted is predeceased by his parents, Samuel ‘Earl’ Alexander Huston and Marguerite ‘Marg’ Boyd Huston (later married to Rod Cameron. He is also predeceased by siblings Lorrie Nesbitt and Alexander ‘Sandy’ Huston (Beverley).

Ted is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 20 years, Alison Huston (nee Muir), and his children; Robert and Ryan Huston and Maggi and Keeragh Robertson. Proud and cherished grandfather of Gabrielle, Matthew, Sarah, Jack and Elizabeth Huston. Dear brother of Lois Clarke (Bernie), and fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Special thanks to Dr. Michael McConvey for his heartfelt and devoted professional care. Deepest gratitude also to the wonderful staff at Owen Hill Care Community for their tireless care and assistance throughout the past for years. We truly cannot thank you enough as you made Ted’s life happier and more meaningful throughout his illness.
