We are heartbroken at this news. Our deepest sympathies to all family.
Ted was kind, gentle, thoughtful and quiet.
He would bring Edy and me snacks to have with our wine; walk me home after dinner; made me a fold down railing and took me for drives while I was confined by a halo- not like the one he will be wearing.

Uncle Ted….all my life you have been my Uncle Ted with Aunt Edy. You were the quieter half of Edy and Ted. I think by choice as you were always the observer who gave a quick quiet zinger with the mischevious smile while waiting for a reaction. You will be missed so much by everyone whose life you touched. To my Aunt Edy and cousins Dana,Darren and Tedy I love you with all my heart and send hugs to each of you.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Ted. Ted was a nephew to my Grandmother Barbara Murdock (Brash), sister to Ted’s father Charles. Looking at the book of condolences, Ten and Edy were at my Grandma’s funeral in 1996. My wife Heather and I had the pleasure of connecting with Darren last summer. Heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to the family from the both of us.

It has been so nice to have had Mr. Brash for a neighbour. When we were lucky to encounter him on one of our walks, we were treated to a kind face and a friendly hello which was enough to brighten anyone’s day and warm anyone’s heart. Condolences to Mrs. Brash and family.

    To Edi, Tedi and Family,

I have such fond memories of time spent with Eddy as his co-worker. I grew up in his presence through good and bad times. Eddy was always there with a his quick wit and thoughtfulness. He had difficulty, often surrounded by women and keeping up with our conversation!! Always there to lend a hand when needed or share his favorite cinnamon bagel with cream cheese…a Edi special!!! He was a warm generous soul and even though our paths have not crossed in a while, I think of him often with a smile on my face. A big part of the Merit family is now missing, but warming a spot on a bench for us to join him elsewhere!!

    Dear Edi,
While chatting with Wendy today, she mentioned she and Darla visited you recently. I fondly remember as a young kid, a week’s vacation with my mom, aunts, and cousins at the cottage in Haliburton. (Not so fond of the outhouse though) I remember your kind words in a card after my mother passed. Wendy told me you were well, but she did mention Ted had passed. I’m so very sorry for you and your family, losing those we love leaves a hole in our heart that can never be filled. Thinking of you today.
