Funeral Details: Private Family Arrangements

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of the matriarch of our family, our beloved mother/nanny/grandma/gigi, Ellen Louise Jarvis Born September 12, 1939.  She left this world peacefully on May 16, 2024.

To her kids, Patty (Ed), Brian (Debbie), Tom (Cathy), Mike (Michele), and Charlie, she will remain our ever present, ever caring mother.

To her grandkids, David (Erin), April (Calvin), Josh (Candice), Tara (Drew), Rebecca (Garett), Tiffany (Rick), Taylor (Connor), Jake, Tyler, and Terrence, she will forever and always be nan/grandma/nanny.

To her great grandkids, Trinity, Oriana, Christian, Sam, Andrew, Skyler, Avila, Zoe, Cameron, Charlotte, Miles, Ben, Aiden, and Claire, she is GiGi gentle and ever-loving.

Ellen loved helping others.  She was a health care aid, a foster parent and she was a member of the Trefoil Guild, the highest honour for volunteer Girl Guide leaders.  As Grandma Owl, she shaped the lives of many young girls.

She was an avid lover of the outdoors; camping, cottaging, being on the water, all of these were her “happy place”.

There’s so much more to say, but for now, we will end with this: love fiercely, protect those who matter, and have the time of your life - Ellen’s orders.

The Roseneath Agricultural Society were so great full to Ellen while she was in charge of the Kids Corner in the Barn during the annual Roseneath Fair. Her way with the children and the crafts she provided for them to work on and then take home were second to none. It was extremely hard to fill her shoes following those years after she retired. She was so dedicated to the Kids Corner.

My heart aches as I face losing you. You were so strong and fierce. You have always been my voice of reason & my shoulder to lean on. I am eternity grateful for everything you did for me and my babies. I can only hope that I will do you proud living my life without fear or hesitation just like you taught me. My heart is broken in a million places right now. But I am trying to take solace knowing you are no longer in pain and are once again reunited with the love of your life. I hope you will always know how much you are loved and how deeply you will be missed. ❤️
