Evelyn Jane Becker

Evelyn Jane Becker, age 78, passed away Wednesday September 2^nd.  She passed away peacefully with family by her side at Coleman Care Centre, in Barrie.

Born on November 14, 1947 in Saint John, New Brunswick, the youngest of 4 girls. She moved to Oakridges, ON at the age of 10 with her family and settled in Barrie, ON in 1985.  She worked at many odd jobs over the years including Burgess Wholesale in Newmarket and made a career working for the Credit Bureau Collection Agency in Barrie for more than 20 years until retiring in 2008.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Francis “Mike” Driscoll, Margaret (Thorne) Driscoll, Husband John Becker, Sister BettyAnne Klassen (Walter), Nephew Kenton Klassen (Maureen), and Brother In-law Geoffrey Becker (Sally).

Leaving to mourn her cherished Son Matthew Becker (Jen Danilko), Daughter Meghan Graves (Pete), and her beloved granddaughter Mikayla. She is survived by her Sisters Marilyn Nabuurs (Bert), Frances Galloway (Brian Skinner) and Brother In-Law Andrew Becker. Evelyn had a very large immediate and extended family she will be missed by her Nieces and Nephews Mike Nabuurs (Stephanie), Paul Nabuurs (Mim), Kara Klassen (David Peterson), Landon Klassen (Mandy), Jennifer Galloway, Liane Becker (Darren Molloy) Jennifer Becker and Lindsey Becker (Gary Arthurs). She also leaves behind many Great Nieces and Nephews who will miss her dearly.

Evelyn was a kind and gentle soul.  She loved so many and befriended all who crossed her path.  She will be especially remembered for her vibrant and stylish clothing choices.  She was never mismatched! Some of her favourite things included watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays play, drinking tea with her friends and sisters, playing scrabble at the cottage, and spending time with her kids and Granddaughter Mikayla.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 18^th, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Dorian Parker Community Centre, 227 Sunnidale Road, Barrie, ON.
Relatives and friends are welcome!  Mom loved bright colours, if you wish please wear something colourful in her honour.
