Very sorry for your loss, your Dad was a very good Uncle to me when I was a kid. We lived in Weston then and he didn’t work far from there. I remember him visiting and on occasion driving me up to visit with all of you. On one visit I remember showing him my new Budgie and telling him it couldn’t/wouldn’t fly. He said give it here where he took it in his big hands, petted it and tossed it in the air, saying something like, all birds can fly. Well he tossed just a bit too hard where it hit the wall, broke its neck and died right in front of us all. We were most definitely all in shock, I remember him asking to sit down, he felt so bad and I knew very well, he didn’t mean for it to happen. He was very sweet with his apology. He left money for a new budgie before he left. Just one of those moments you never forget. Every time I would speak to Uncle Frank after years had passed he would always ask “how are the Budgies flying”. which would always make me laugh. Such a silly story thats more than 50 years old, but one I remember like yesterday.
