Our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Fred. As long-time neighbours of Fred in Collingwood since 2005, we admired Fred’s consistent kindness, respect and thorough sense of humour. Yes, he was the ‘life’ of the party, whether big or small. Listening to Fred’s extensive life experiences were always fun and interesting, he will be truly missed.

    Leslie, Amanda and Amber,

Lee and I are so sad at Fred’s passing and wanted you to know that we are thinking of you. I loved Fred and valued him not only as a great personal friend but also as a person who had a great impact on our business career.
I had the pleasure , albeit, difficult, of visiting Fred once a week for his last three weeks. He was amazingly positive, upbeat and still full of stories. many of them included in his book which I thoroughly enjoyed. He told me he was secure in having led a full life and that he was happy. My feeling is that he saw his way out, in exactly the same way he led his life. You and his friends have lost an incredible icon. The world needs more Freds! Wishing you better times ahead.
