Funeral Details: Private Family Arrangements

It is with great sadness that the family of Frederick George Daubert announces his unexpected passing on February 21st, 2023, at the age of 89 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Moira.  He will be fondly remembered by his daughter: Sharon (Manny); grandchildren:  Maranda (Chad), Carly (Michael); great grandchildren: Reed, Jude, Luca, Finn, former daughter in law Margaret, and countless other family members and friends.  He was preceded by his parents William and Lillian, brother Albert, and his two sons Kenneth, and Cameron.

When Moira and Fred met, he was a student at the Niagara Falls School of Horticulture.  Fred also studied at McMaster University, and at the University of Toronto.  Together Fred and Moira raised their three children in Richmond Hill before building their family home in Holland Landing.  Fred spent his later years in Ridgeway, and Niagara Falls where he spent much time enjoying horticulture and enjoying his later years carving with the Niagara Woodcarvers Association.

Fred had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, and often spent his spare time reading.  He was known as a great storyteller and will be remembered for his sense of curiosity.

The family will have a private Celebration of Life later this summer.  Memorial donations can be made to Princess Margaret Hospital.  Online memories and condolences may be made at www.peacefultransition.ca

It is with much regret that we received the news of passing of Fred from Margie. Fred was not only a valued member of our club and will be fondly remembered for his contribution to the club but also as one of life’s beautiful people and it was a pleasure to have known him. I think we will want to make a contribution to his memory, Colin

Hi Colin, thank you for your condolences on behalf of the Woodcarvers. Many of my grandfathers carvings are cherished in our home, and I know how much he enjoyed his time spent with you all. I will be sure to pass your condolences along to my grandmother Moira.
