Peacefully passed away on her 84th birthday on Saturday, September 17th, 2022 at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.

Loving mother to Jennifer Azzano (Vanni) and Jocelyn Osborne (Michael). She was the cherished Nana to Bradley (Samantha), Mark, and Joel Azzano, and Mitchell and Allison Jones. Special “extra” grandma and GG to the Collins family. She will be missed by her brother-in-law Bernard Lacey, as well as several nieces, nephews, and many good friends.

Gail was predeceased by her husband of 46 years Peter Jones, son Scott, brother Rodney, and parents George and Ellen (Hancock) Rickards. She was also predeceased by brothers- and sisters-in-law Kenneth and Evelyn Jones, Helen Lacey, Ronald Jones, and Barbara (Rickards) Firth.

Gail was a devoted member of St. Margaret’s Anglican Church. She was well known for her sense of humour, love of her family, and good company.

If desired, donations to St. Margaret’s Anglican Church, the RVH Foundation, or the Stroke Recovery Association of Barrie and District would be gratefully appreciated by the family

Im heartbroken to hear of the passing of Gail. Gail was a longtime client of mine while I worked at the BSO in Barrie and I looked forward to seeing her every Saturday morning. She was a force to be rekoned with with her sassy personality and always had the girls and I laughing. She will be missed dearly and my condolences go out to her family. ❤️

In a world of politically correctness, Gail was a breath of fresh air. A great sense of humour which cut to the chase and you knew where she stood! We helped her with Peter’s chair and later on Gail’s walker to enable her to attend church. Through this, we got to know her and appreciate her thoughtfulness and kind heart. We miss our hugs after “The Peace” part of the service. The world needs more people like Gail who can encourage, appreciate and leave you with a smile. Well done Gail!

Jennifer & Jocelyn I lived on the same street in Westboro as your grandparents and went to school with Gail. Over the years we kept track through the Birminghams. I hope you can take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering & is with your father. My deepest condolences to you & your families.

    Dear Jocelyn:
My deepest thoughts on the death of your mom. She had many struggles noted in our discussions over the years but she always managed them with dignity & humour.

I will miss our many discussions and laughs.

She now can visit every day with her long-lasting friendship with Marg.

    Dear Jocelyn and Jennifer:

I always looked forward to my visits when I would be in Barrie visiting my family “The Collins Clan”. Gail always placed a smile on my face, and we had many great laughs and times together.
Gail will be so missed by all of us that were honoured to know her and love her.
My heart and thoughts are with you!
