Garry Keith Cousins

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Garry Keith Cousins of Angus.  He passed away peacefully September 23, 2026, at the age of 86, with family by his side at Matthew House Hospice in Alliston.

Garry was a devoted and loving husband to Gisela of 64 years.  Loving and caring Dad to Susan Emberly (2019) (Real), Garry Cousins (Tracy) and Cindy McKinnon (Scott).  Most amazing Opa to his grandchildren Chrystal Black (Trevor), Erin Donkers, Robin Emberly, Devin Cousins (Nicole), Alyx Cousins, Patrick McKinnon, Andrew McKinnon and Emily McKinnon.  Great grand children Savanah Emberly-Bezanson (2006), Alex Black, Emma Black, Noah Black, Rue Emberly and Julian Donkers.

Garry was born August 8, 1940 to Arthur and Gertrude Cousins of Gormley, Ontario.  He is predeceased by his parents and sisters Lee, Jo-Anne, Myrtle and Barbara.  He will be fondly remembered and missed by his brothers Arthur Cousins (Dawn) and Donnie Cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

Garry began his career in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1959 joining the Blackwatch which brought him to Germany where he met the love of his life Gisela.  Many postings throughout Canada and back to Germany where all of his children were born.  Dad proudly retired (36 years) on August 8, 1995, as a Materials Technician and settled into Angus where he and Mom and his beloved kitty Felix resided together until his passing.

Dad was such a loving man and always had wise words of encouragement or advice (especially if you asked about welding or repairing anything).

Memorial donations can be made in Garry’s name to Matthews House Hospice in Alliston.
