Gary Winston Tulk

August 20, 1952 - January 9, 2022

Funeral Details: Private Cremation

It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of Gary Winston Tulk at the age of 69 years. Gary passed on the afternoon of January 9, 2022 at Southlake Regional Hospital, ending his courageous battle with cancer.

Gary was THE movie man, and cherished all things cinema. He was a devout Toronto Maple Leafs fan, and his passion for hockey night in Canada never waned. Gary was gentle, kind and beloved by all who knew him. He took pride in his immaculate yard, but nothing in his world made him prouder than his family.

Gary was an adoring, attentive husband to Gail Tulk. A warm and loving father to Shaun Tulk (Fauve) and Ashley Tulk (Niko). Dear brother to Sandra Chafe. Poppy to his very special grandson Aleo Enge, with whom he will always share an unbreakable bond.

Farewell Gary, until we meet again

A private cremation has taken place and arrangements entrusted to Peaceful Transitions York (2-15236 Yonge Street Aurora). Condolences may be forwarded through peacefultransition.ca

Big Gare (as I knew him) has always been a stand up guy and always had the time to talk and share his own life experiences without any judgment. I’m forever grateful for the opportunity to have known him. I can picture him holding his cup of Tim Hortons coffee with his smiling face ready to hear what crazy life situation I happen to be in at that moment as I was eager to hear his thoughts and advice. I thought of him as not only a friends Dad, but as a father figure and most importantly…a great man that I could wholeheartedly call a friend.
Gary you will be missed but definitely not forgotten.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and I know you will always be there in all of our thoughts and always watching over your family and friends.
Thanks for everything you did and for the wisdom that has made me a better man. I will never forget you.
    R.I.P and God bless.

Gail and family, we are very saddened by the news of Gary’s passing. We know how much he loved his family. He loved visiting Newfoundland and we enjoyed hosting him with a good meal of cod fish. I think he had a special place in his heart of keels and I have great memories of him. May you find comfort in knowing he is at peace and without pain. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I grew up with Gary, we worked together when we were young and partied and hung out together as teenagers and into our 20’s and 30’s and I was his mailman for years. You couldn’t meet a nicer guy he had a great sense of humour and was just an all-around great friend. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. You won’t ever meet a more beautiful soul than Gary. It’s impossible to put into words what an incredible guy Gary was our hearts are broken and the world has lost one of the Best! R’I.P. my dear friend

I’m very saddened to hear about Gary’s passing. Sincere Condolences to Gail and family. Gary was always so friendly and took time to chat. I often saw him tending to his spotless front garden or going to pick up his grandson from school or he would wave as I drove in or out. Reading some condolences I realized he was the best man at my son-in-law’s Uncle Wes’ wedding! What a small world…
