Posted on: Thursday, March 15, 2018Fannie So of Housing at Woodgreen shared with me that when Gerry attended their last community meeting Gerry expressed concern and caring for his neighbors. He disclosed that he had cancer and expressed that life was too short for people to hate each other. He gave good testamonials of others.
MY comment about Gerry is that he had a sense of humor, and had a passion for the old country music. He particularly liked attending at venues where Alistair Christl played.
Gerry was also quite a reader. And like many in our family, he liked crime fiction stories…..or true crime.
We’ll miss him in our lives.
RIP my dear cousin.

Posted on: Thursday, March 15, 2018Gerry certainly lived his life to the fullest after leaving cottage country for the big city.
If we had to go to the city for any reason, he would scope out parking places, restaurants and what floor the bathroom was on in whatever building we had to go to.
One of my funny memories was when he lived with us as children. I was outside in the yard and saw a glint of the sun shining on Gerry’s belt buckle as he came running up the road. He was a fast runner in those days. His memory of names and events was quite astonishing.
We will miss you Gerry

Posted on: Monday, March 19, 2018To Gerry’s friends and family,
My sincerest condolences on Gerry’s passing. I work at South Riverdale Community Health Centre and knew Gerry through his involvement with the rooftop garden program. He was a dedicated member of the group and always willing to lend a helping hand. I will remember him as a thoughtful and gentle soul who loved music and was always up for anything including dressing up for our Halloween garden group sessions.
He will be greatly missed.
Warm regards,
Caryn
