Gilles (Herve) Gratton, age 89, passed away at RVRHC on Tuesday January 17th, 2023.
Born July 20th, 1933, in Timmins, Ontario. He lived in Barrie since 1979 and worked at Dominion stores/No Frills until retiring in April of 2021. Gilles was a member of St-Mary’s parish.
Survived by his wife of 66 years, Estelle Gratton (née Regaudie) of Barrie, sister Muriel of Espanola, daughter Lucie Perrin (husband Mike) from Sudbury and son Marc from Barrie. He will be sadly missed by many sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws.
Dear grandfather to Natalie and Chantal of Sudbury, Lisa and Eric of Montreal and Great grandfather to Everly, Elsi, Fox, James, and Henry.
Gilles was preceded in death by son Andre Gratton along with his 2 sisters, Odette Duncan (Gratton) of BC, and Estelle Larose (Gratton) of Timmins.
Gilles had an infectious laugh and sense of humour, always so happy!!
We would like to thank the nursing staff at RVRHC, Surgical floor 2 for the excellent care they provided.
There will be no visitation or funeral at this time. A private family interment will take place in the spring.

He was a great brother-Law, with great memories and forever laughter at family gatherings.

I am saddened to hear the news about Gilles passing. I remembered what a great boss he was, when I worked @ Dominion Store on Blake St. We sure had a lot of laughs, & it was so nice to get caught with him when he was working at No Frills. Thinking of you in this difficult time.
