Funeral Details: Private family arrangements

MCKEVER, Gloria Merle (nee:  Williams)

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gloria McKever in her 89th year on Saturday, December 17, 2022.

This wonderful, loving woman, holding tightly onto all her roles as matriarch, brought so much joy to her family.

Gloria was the youngest daughter of the late Audrey and David Williams of Toronto.

Gloria adored her late sister, Thelma Robinson of Coldwater, with whom she spent many hours together raising their kids, playing cards, laughing and reminiscing.

Dear wife of the late Howard McKever, she was a loving mother to Merle and Scott (Terry), Grandma to Chelsea (Brian), Megan, and Lindsy (Tory), and "GG" to Layla and Jace.

She also leaves behind her beloved Thelma’s children - John (Terry), the late David (Gaetanne), Bill (JoAnne), Robbie (Laurie), Audrey (the late Will), and Debbie (Chris), their extended families, many nieces and nephews, Howard’s brother Boyd (Barb), and special friends, Ayla and April.

Gloria loved to travel and swim in her pool, and shared her sewing expertise, painting, and love for roses with everyone.

Over the years her fun-loving and caring, generous spirit brought her many friendships at St. Andrew's United Church, Lord Strathcona School and the Austrian International Club in Kingston, and most recently at the Red Hats and Parkview Senior Centre in Barrie.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital for her care.  In accordance with her wishes, no funeral will be held.  A Celebration of Life will take place in the Spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dog Therapy Program, St. John's Ambulance.

Words cannot describe Gloria’s kind and loving nature. The Precious Gems of Barrie enjoyed her fun and loving nature for many years .. she going to be missed very, very much!
Gloria didn’t hesitate to offer anything she could do to make someone else feel better, less lonely .. or help physically in any way she could.
Rest in Peace my dear friend …
