Passed away peacefully on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Muskoka Shores Transitions Nursing Home, in his 84th year.

 

Born to the late Norm and Jean Baverstock of Milton, Ontario, Gord is predeceased by his brother Francis (Darlene) and sister June.  He is survived by sisters Violet Dennis (Bob), and Kay Agar (Steve)

 

Gord is also predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy (Cross).  Together, they were the loving Dad and Mother to Tim (Tracy), Julie (late Kevin) Bouskill, late Darlene (Don) Ilton, and Michelle (Bob) Hewer.

 

Gord will be sadly missed by his grandchildren:  Ellen (Pauly), Trevor (Maria), Cliff (Trista), Kandice (Kyle), Amanda (Sean), Diane (John), Clinton, and step-grandchildren Shawna (Michael), Darryl, Shannon (Tyler), Doug, and Sarah (Steve).  Gord also leaves great-grandchildren:  Jake, Eric, Lucas, Charlotte, Kennedy, and step great-grandchildren Madison, Jacob, Reagan, Bella, Ryder, Cole and Allie.

 

Gord will be remembered for working at the P.L. Robertson factory for 35 years, and after moving north, worked at Robinson Haulage for well over 10 years.  He had lots of friends and stories to relay about his worklife.  He loved to laugh.

 

In addition to enjoying activities with family, Gord had many other interests, including dancing, horses, farming, tractor-pulling, camping, collecting “C(l)ub Cadets”, and he truly and thoroughly enjoyed the friendships he developed while participating in all his activities. 

 

Family and Friends are welcome to join the kids in a Celebration of Life for Gord at Tim’s farm on Saturday, October 6th, 2018 starting at 1:00 p.m.

If desired, expressions of sympathy could be sent to the “Make A Wish” Foundation, the Hospital for Sick Kids or any charity that assists children in your area.

    I will miss him coming into the store, always, “hello beautiful”. Or some compliment, then he would tease the heck out of me. You will be missed Gord. Rest in Peace my friend.

    Such a great man! I loved to chat to him when I saw him out and about. That smile is what I will always remember. So sorry for loss Tim,Tracey, Diane and Clinton .
