Gordon Charles Berry

March 22, 1947 - January 23, 2022

Funeral Details:

Gordon Charles Berry passed peacefully into the afterlife on January 23, 2022 at Cawthra Gardens Long Term Care Residence in Mississauga. A life-long Mississauga resident, Gordon is survived by his daughter Juliette Fergus (Scott), ex-wife Regina Gabrielle Berry (nee Longtin), granddaughter Leighton Fergus, and sister Beverley Belcher (Gordon). Gordon joins his treasured common-law wife of 30+ years, Emily Hosier, and his greatly loved father, Wilson Reginald Berry and mother Thelma Grace Berry (nee Andrew) in the great beyond.

Gordon was an antique gun collector who loved nothing more than traveling across southern Ontario and upstate New York to various gun shows. He enjoyed the RV lifestyle and had many friends in both Florida and Toronto. Motorcycles were a life-long passion. Professionally, Gordon was very proud to have served the Toronto District School Board as a licensed Iron Worker for close to 50 years.

Towards the end, Gordon battled a form of dementia that eventually took away the use of his legs and kept him in bed rest for 4 years. His lack of mobility did not impact his imagination or his “gift of the gab”. He charmed all those he came into contact with, telling tales that seamlessly wove together the fabric of reality and fiction. Whenever he was asked what his plans were for the day, Gordon would usually tell people that he was going to jump into the candy-apple red pick-up truck that he just bought, and run away to Florida.

May Gordon finally find the truck of his dreams, and drive off into an everlasting sunset.
