Gregory “Greg” Lewis Dale

July 6, 1953 - March 11, 2026

Funeral Details: Service details will be announced at a later date.

Gregory Lewis Dale, known to most as Greg, but known by many other names such as Dad, Pops, Papa, Uncle Greg, Hun, Baby and Greg-a-roni, passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital on March 11th, 2026 at age 72 after complications during a battle with cancer.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Lori, his children, Aaron(Jacqui), Amber, Brenda(Adam), Nathan(Amanda), Reuben(Hannah), and Olivia(Louis), 11 grandchildren(number 12 on the way), 3 bonus grandchildren, and his 3 siblings, John, Sharon and Kirk.

Born to James Lewis Dale and Velma Edyth Dale on July 6th, 1953, the youngest of 4 children, Greg grew up in Scarborough, or ‘Scarberia’ as it was so called. He had fond memories of growing up at 44 Larkhall, where he would wrestle with his brothers, play hockey with the neighborhood kids, and sing and play piano with his sister. His favourite pastime in his youth was spending time in nature.

Greg met the love of his life, Lori, in 1971, and the two were married in 1975. In their 51 years together they lived in several places, including Toronto, Bradford and Barrie among others. They raised 6 children together, and were active church members at Bradford Baptist, where they made many life-long friends.

Greg worked as a printer for 35 years and a fire alarm technician for 9 years, though his work title was never part of the description of who he was. Greg was a people person who loved every opportunity to talk to others and form relationships. He was always quick with a joke or a story, a piece of wisdom or advice, or just an ear to listen for those that needed it. He loved serving others.

Greg loved golf in the summer and darts in the winter, and was a member of the Big Cedar community. He loved a good book, a good conversation, and he loved Jesus.

Thank you to the tremendous staff at RVH for their hard work in making Greg and his family as comfortable as possible during this difficult time. Your compassion does not go unnoticed.

Service details will be announced at a later date.

We called it “The Happy Hotel” and it certainly was!
It was Greg & Lori’s home in Kirkfield and our family spent many wonderful weekends there during difficult times that I won’t forget. Tons of laughing, chatting, playing, fishing, eating, fireworks and even bats lol. I will also never forget the loving & spiritual support Greg & Lori provided when the bottom of my life fell out and my marriage ended. Greg became the Lord’s shepherd leading me to understanding my circumstances and finding solid footing again with Jesus. Greg also baptized me at the church they were such a big part of. And Lori was a constant, compassionate ear and teacher, even taking time away from her family to accompany me to Ohio for my divorce hearing. Their marriage, family and walk with the Lord have continued to be an inspiration to me. I love them dearly. I close my eyes and can hear Greg’s crazy laugh even from Heaven.

Sadly Bryan and myself did not get to know Greg and Lori very well but got a glimpse of the wonderful, loving family they are at the celebration of life for both Aunt Val and Uncle Jim
To read all the beautiful tributes from his family and friends shows what an amazing person Greg was
Our thought are with you and we are sending lots of strength and sincere sympathy
