Harold William “Bill” Hillock

January 26, 1936 - January 19, 2021

Funeral Details:

Harold William “Bill” Hillock

Bill was a man that lived his life to the fullest.  The outdoors was his playground and teaching arena for his children and grandchildren.  His cedar canoe was his pride and joy.  Planning and exploring for the next adventure with his loyal navigator Rowena, to camp and fish and discover new places within the coasts of Canada, was his lifelong path.  Bill passionately shared stories of his adventures with historical truths intertwined in the tales.  No tree went unidentified.  Bill’s commitment to his faith, his love and devotion to his family, his long career with Canadian General Electric, his singing groups, his swimming friends, filled his world with great joy.

On January 19, 2021, we lost a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle.  Harold William (Bill) died peacefully in Barrie, Ontario.  He was born on January 26, 1936, the oldest child of Harold Rutledge Hillock and Elmereen Hillock (nee Hewitt).  Bill is survived by the love of his life, his wife Rowena, his 2 daughters Susan Anderson and Janine McGill, brother Bob Hillock (Kathe), sister Donna Steele (Bruce), brothers-in-law Jim Hayward (Nita), Bill Griffiths, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Bill is predeceased by his son Donald (Sheryl), sister-in-law Rae Griffiths.  He will be fondly remembered by his 8 grandchildren Ryan (Josue), Justin (Michelle), Brock (Sara), Joshua (Sarah), Craig (Gina), Sean, Todd (Delaney), Noah and his cherished great-grandchild Keith William (and one almost here!).
